@hellwroughtangel I totally agree that both are good to master. However, some teachers and players let ego get in the way of teaching where is does NOT belong. Weightlifting is all about lifting heavy weights. Music is about melody, harmony and rhythm.
Walking around with weights all day strengthen the legs and when they are removed it results in a feeling of lightness. As a fighter this allows you to move better and improves your balance as well as the speed of your kicks.
As far as bar chords are concerned if you don’t try to play bar chords routinely you’ll never be able to. Granted playing all your song barred is not going to be fun, because lets face it as a beginner bar chords are frustrating. I think they should learn to play both.

yeah its a good lesson as are all of ur vids. however you gave a little speech there about barre chords, isn’t F a barre chord in a way ? pot to kettle, hello kettle…. lol
